Ipinagmalaki ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang pagiging angkop at akmang lokasyon ng Cagayan, upang magsilbi bilang kauna-unahang spaceport ng Pilipinas.
“Cagayan is both geographically and economically primed to serve as our gateway to space and host the country’s first spaceport.” —Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Sa gitna ito ng pakikipag-tulungan ng bansa sa South Korean aerospace company, para sa rocket launch na gagawin ng Pilipinas, sa susunod na taon.
“A sounding rocket launch test is slated for next year. Yes, we are going to launch a rocket into space. This we will do in partnership with a South Korean aerospace company.” —Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Sa ikalimang State of the Nation Address (SONA), sinabi ng pangulo na ang administrasyon, tuloy sa pag-sasakatuparan ng mga malalaking layunin na pinapangarap lamang ng bansa noon.
Ipinu-posisyon aniya ng pamahalaan ang Pilipinas sa global value-chain ng advance manufacturing, technology, at logistics.
“We continue to strive for bigger and greater things, venturing into areas heretofore unimaginable. That is, strategic and emerging industries that position our country in the global value-chain, such as in the fields of pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, luxury goods, technology, and logistics.” —Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Mayroong aniyang potensyal ang Cagayan, upang suportahan ang space-related industries. Sa gitna na rin ito ng mga hakbang ng gobyerno upang mapalawak ang papel ng Pilipinas sa global space sector.
Samantala, binanggit din ng pangulo ang na-selyuhang Pax Silica Industrial Hub, na lilikha ng de kalidad na trabaho para sa mga Pilipino, maga-angat ng industrial competitiveness ng bansa, at magpapalakas pa sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas.
“Additionally, a product of the 23-member strong and US-led Pax Silica Initiative, the Pax Silica Industrial Hub will create an eco-system that will have AI at its core. It will bring quality jobs to our people, accelerate our industrial competitiveness, and revitalize our economy.” —Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Bilang mahalagang bahagi aniya ng Luzon Economic Corridor, ang hub na ito, magsisilbing advanced manufacturing at logistics center para sa global AI at technology value chain.
