Isa sa mga ipinagmalaki ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa ikalimang State of the Nation Address (SONA) ay ang layo na ng narating ng peace and reconciliation efforts ng pamahalaan, partikular sa Cordillera region.
Katunayan, ayon sa Pangulo, handa na ang pamahalaan upang pormal na isapinal at peace agreement nito sa Cordillera Bodong Administration-Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CBA-CPLA).
Sumisimbulo ito ng mahalagang tagumpay, makalipas ang higit isang dekada makaraang malagdaan ang closure agreement sa pagitan ng grupo at ng pamahalaan.
“A long but worthwhile fifteen years since its signing, we are now ready to formalize the historic completion of the Government’s peace pact with the CBA-CPLA.” -Pangulong Marcos
Kaugnay nito, sinabi ng Pangulo, tuloy na tuloy na ang kauna-unahang parliamentary elections sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
“Peace and order are the foundations of security, for our country, for our region, and for the world.” -Pangulong Marcos
Nagpapatuloy rin aniya ang paghahanda para sa eleksiyon sa BARMM.
At una nang naatasan ang government agencies na siguruhing magiging maayos, mapayapa, at tapat ang pagsasagawa ng halalan sa Setyembre.
“COMELEC, law enforcement, volunteers, deputized agencies, and all stakeholders are now ready to ensure that this defining political exercise will be peaceful, orderly, and credible.” -Pangulong Marcos
