Patrick Coo displayed his readiness for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games with a silver medal finish in last weekend’s Asian BMX Championships in Nilai, Malaysia.
Coo finished just eight-tenths of a second behind back-to-back champion Asuma Nakai of Japan and was half a second ahead of third-placer Ryo Shimada.
Aside from improving on his previous two bronze finishes, the 23-year old Coo was also able to scout his Asian Games rivals, including reigning gold medalist Nakai and 2023 silver medalist Komet Sukprasert of Thailand.
Coo will return to Calfornia, USA to continue his preparations for the Japan Asian Games where he will again be partnered with 2014 gold medalist and
Olympian Daniel Caluag.
