Tinatalakay na ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) at Supreme Court (SC) ang pagsasama ng Electronic Documentary Stamp Tax o eDST system sa Electronic Notarization o eNotarization facilities ng Korte Suprema.
Sa pulong nina BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza at Supreme Court Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin S. Caguioa, pinag-usapan ang posibilidad na mai-affix nang electronic ang Documentary Stamp Tax o DST sa mga dokumentong nino-notaryo online.
Layon nitong alisin ang natitirang paper-based step sa proseso, para maging digital na ang dokumento mula sa pagbuo at pagpirma hanggang sa notarization at verification.
Ayon kay Commissioner Mendoza, makatutulong ang inisyatiba na gawing mas simple, mabilis at madaling ma-verify ang mga transaksyon, habang isinusulong ang digital transformation, at Ease of Doing Business agenda ng pamahalaan.
“If a document can be executed, signed, notarized, and verified electronically, it should not have to go back to paper just to comply with the Documentary Stamp Tax. That is why we are working with the Supreme Court to remove this remaining paper-based step and make the entire process seamless and more verifiable,” ani Commissioner Mendoza.
